Every Womanship conversation starts with the same question.
Because the connections we form across a lifetime — the experiences, the relationships, the moments that broke us open and rebuilt us — are what make us who we are today.
👈 This is my answer.
— Nicolette Lazarus, Founder & CCO
So I started building. What followed was unexpected, humbling, and at times extraordinary.
👈 This is the Womanship story.
We wanted to understand how many women felt the same way. So we asked them.
Nearly 500 women. Multiple countries, ages and ethnicities. The findings were striking - and they haven't changed.
Three quarters of women have had a worry on their mind in the past week.
Over 40% in the past 24 hours. The worries fall into the same eight areas — health, relationships, fertility, motherhood, emotional wellbeing, menopause, grief, career — and a ninth is growing: the world around us.
Only 29% feel they can be completely open about what they're going through — even with their closest friends.
Not because they don't want to. Because shame, fear of judgment, and fear of burdening the people they love keeps them quiet.
And yet three quarters of women feel better simply by being able to share.
We don't need answers. We need somewhere to say it out loud.
Womanship has now hosted events across the Netherlands and beyond — bringing women together across cities, age groups, and life stages, in person and online.
We've welcomed health and wellness professionals who are changing how women access support. And we've run ongoing research with nearly 500 women across multiple countries.
We are still early.
That's the point.
The women who join now are the ones who shape what this becomes.
