Reflecting on our first A-Z of Things Women Don't Talk About: A for Abortion

Safe Space Guides: Anja Wolters, Nicolette Lazarus, Jeannette Bolck & Nkem Ijeh.

Thank you to out Event Safe Space Guides: L-R: Anja Wolters (Holistic Process Guide), Nicolette Lazarus (Host), Jeannette Bolck (Psychologist NIP) & Nkem Ijeh (Trauma Informed Psychotherapist)  who made this experience possible.  We've not shown attendees’ to honour their privacy

What can I say?  We picked a hell of an ‘𝐀’ to kick off our A-Z of Things Women Don’t Talk About series.  Addressing abortion, a topic often held in silence, was challenging, but after a week of reflection, I feel proud. This is exactly what Womanship stands for.

Both online and in-person, our gatherings offered something rare: a safe space where women could share their experiences openly, freely, and without judgment.  Together, we created a space that felt comfortable, honest, and soul-warming...a place where vulnerability was met with empathy and understanding.

Our attendees shared how deeply valuable it was to speak their truth and feel validated in their choices. The experience reminded us all of the power of shared connection and the healing that happens when stories are spoken, not silenced.

⭐ 5-star rating

💬 “Listening to each journey changed my perspective and made the complexity of choices come alive.”

💬 “This was more than a discussion; it was a space where we could heal.”

💬 “I felt comfortable, honest, and supported—a truly soul-warming atmosphere.”

We also explored practices and perspectives from different cultures that broadened our understanding, allowing us to release judgment and build empathy. By sharing in a safe environment, many attendees said they felt “lighter,” a powerful reminder of the release that can come from simply being heard.

Thank you to everyone who participated and brought their honestly and vulnerability to this event.

Together, we began breaking down silence, releasing shame, and embracing empathy.

This is only the beginning of creating safe spaces where women can connect, heal, and feel truly seen.

Revitalized. Connected. Empowered. Grounded. Alive. Validated. Inspired.

Just a few of the comments following our Where Serendipity Fuels Impact: Walky Talky on 16th of October in Vondelpark.  Organized by the amazing Melody Biringer, founder of Women in Tech Regatta,  the walk was also led by Helen Pink the CEO of TedX Amsterdam and Womanship founder Nicolette Lazarus.  We sparked deep conversations about relationships, vulnerability, and mutual support.

Everyone came as individuals but left with new authentic connections and a little less worry. 🌿✨

If you missed this one, don’t worry—there will be more opportunities to connect, reflect, and support each other in future events.

Until then, remember: Share more. Worry less.

Empowering Women to Share More, Ask for Help, and Thrive: Highlights

On September 30th, we gathered for an incredible evening of honesty, empowerment, and connection, bringing together women from different backgrounds to break the barriers around asking for help.  Led by Womanship founder Nicolette Lazarus and Ashley Usiskin, founder of The Gift of Help, this event was all about creating a space where women could share openly, feel supported, and embrace the strength that comes from vulnerability.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with warmth and authenticity, as participants explored the concept of help—why it’s so important and why it can be so challenging to ask for it. Ashley's personal stories, along with practical exercises to identify our "help blockers," left everyone inspired to rethink their relationship with asking for support.

What Our Community Had to Say

We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful response we received. Every participant rated the event a 4 or 5, and the reflections shared with us highlighted just how valuable this experience was:

  • “The session felt very genuine and offered a safe space for people to share.”
  • “The blockers exercise opened my eyes to barriers I hadn’t even realized were there.”
  • "The warmth in the room and the sharing spirit really stood out to me."

The response was so enthusiastic that our limited follow-up session filled almost immediately, showing just how much demand there is to continue this journey together.

Join Us Online on November 27th

If you couldn’t make it to the event in September, we’re thrilled to invite you to our upcoming online version on November 27th! This will be another amazing opportunity to connect, reflect, and explore how we can empower ourselves through the gift of help.

Celebrating Holistic Health and Wellness - Together

Our very first Womanship event was In June.  We were overjoyed to gather over 50 health and wellness professionals from across the Netherlands for an inspiring evening dedicated to connection and the holistic health support that women deserve to thrive. 🌱✨

Together, we enjoyed fabulous non-alcoholic cocktails, generously provided by our sponsor, Van Sha, while soaking up the wisdom shared by our passionate practitioners. Every moment buzzed with positivity, warmth, and the genuine spirit of our growing community.

A heartfelt thank you to Fragrantly for the pampering goody bags that provided the perfect finishing touch. Each thoughtful gift served as a reminder of the importance of self-care—not just for the women we serve, but also for ourselves as caregivers and health advocates.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event truly unforgettable.

Let’s keep building this community of support—together, we thrive. 💛
